so my memory is p crusty on the best of days, but andrew has historically only ever paid the epilogue writers for their contributions, and has basically said he can't pay anyone else due to the financial status of whatever company he's heading at any given moment - to the point that several of his friends and collaborators have all eventually left hs -

including kate, and to this day i still do not understand the hold hussie has on these people that they will defend him

i believe they introduced a patreon after that specifically to pay the hs^2 writers

fair, the tldr is that the mspa prophet is a Tumblr account who, unfailing, predicted every single update a few hours before they happened

and they kept secret about how until after the comic ended, where they revealed they were just someone who accidentally found the literal PHB forum that all of Homestuck was hosted on, including the board that was reskinned to be the front end website

so you could tell when an update was coming because hussie would log in and update it there first
