OKAY ACTUALLY. with valencias there's always this default level of distance/feeling on the margins of things/just overall sadness that is sort of formless and Always There that she can't really turn off, but it comes and goes especially strongly with Scarlet due to the Family identities being a major concern-- in canon she rarely

has to consider more than one or two "places" she belongs to, at best, and is sort of a free-floating entity everywhere else, but in limelight she's got a few different Views Of Self because of her upbringing/having to hide what she is for her and others' safety, namely

1. her identity as Lycoris, her mother's daughter, assassin (dead now, but still haunted)
2. Lycoris, Val and Van's peer and being a kind of family in their own right (entirely unwilling to let go of this even if she should "leave her past behind")
3. Being a member of Eonia (dead, now)
4. Being a member of Sun Sign (uneasy due to nerves) and

5. Scarlet Swan, as her own new individual person who SHOULD be separate from her past.

Satin has said many times she should divorce herself from her past, leave it behind, and move on as someone new, and every time he insists on this being The Sun Sign Way it kills her a little because she does NOT have the confidence to do this. so emotionally juggling

all of these aspects is very tiring but she refuses to drop any plates

She's actually... in an okay place, currently. Brocade reiterated his care for her/reassured her he wasn't just gonna be Gone when it came to it, which helped in the way of "scarlet gets rejected by like 3 different people in quick succession even when she was not actually proposing any sort of relationship with 2/3rds of them" still being a huge sore point

bingo went okay, she got to go on a cute date with a cat, she got to hang out with her friends, she got to meet charon and see what kind of guy was taking over vincent's head. previous to this she got to bond a little more with eriks which is always nice. they've got cute new sun signs. she's even feeling pretty ok about aloe despite All That she did just

need a few days to sulk about it. the only thing she's kind of uneasy about right now is satin because (things i put in previous plurk) but now it's settled more into "feels bad about being a cunt to him" but also still thinks he probably hates her. if thats how it is she can probably deal right..... she's trying not to think about that tho.

she's still not entirely settled on who she is, currently, as scarlet, but she's definitely feeling more overall accepted by sun sign and a bit more comfortable in her skin so to speak. she is NOT comfortable with her visions though and is not looking forward to them, ongoing. but trying not to think about that tho!!

BIT EMBITTERED ABOUT THE ALOE THING mostly because on one hand she's like "so you admit your vision life is taking over significantly enough to affect your relationships and u can't do anything about it" and on the other it's just the idea of being sorta cut off from someone important to her (which is not what he's asking. but it IS how she's taking it)

(she is taking it this way because she is trying to imagine a happy medium where she stays as affectionate towards both him AND aloe as she is/wants to be and cannot imagine vincent not being a little upset about it in the wake of this due to How She Is even if she's not openly propositioning someone)

though she knew by asking him if he wanted her to step off that she was opening herself up to this feeling anyway. it was kind of intentional on her part because she's rather feel hurt for a bit Now than later. she very much likes to get these things out of the way so it doesn't keep spinning around in her head until it drives her crazy

due to this all being unreasonable feelings on her part it is another one of those things she just needs to sulk about for a few days and get it out of her system. which she did.

unfortunately (or fortunately i guess) vincent is genuinely one of the most beloved people in her life and another one for the "i would kill for this guy" slot. in stars meme he would also get the "i consider you family" star too even though like... objectively they're not, really, but he IS a core part of her life in a similar vein

something i'm excited to do/explore with scarlet uhhhh. one of the things i love doing with Valencias that i've never gotten to do in LL is her absolutely batshit berserker violence where she just goes and goes until either she or the opponent is dead. or both. this is generally paired with insane protectiveness which came out a tiny tiny bit with satin

but hasn't since or before so i'd like to be able to do that sometime... scarlet is i think even worse about it than valencia standard bc scarlet doesn't care about coming off rude in ways valencia simply cannot

in that same vein i'm tentatively curious about like, more of valencia coming through but i truly don't know how that will go because valencia is very much uptight and unwilling to engage in shit that scarlet will happily throw herself into. in that same vein scarlet is also going to slam face first in the "uh oh trio monogamy" parts of her visions/memories

and not know how to deal with it but unfortunately this is going to be More Isolating for her due to (literally none of them are here)
