So I went to this glass replacement place just now to get the missing window in my car replaced

Price I was quoted on the web site: $250

Price I was asked for when I stepped inside: $390

Even after seeing the quote I was given, and confirming it was in their system too, the manager would only go as low as $300

Said they'd be losing money if he went any lower

Which, fine, but if that's the case, I should never have been given the original quote in the first place

So I'm going home still missing a window, and prepping to write a displeased email to the company

I know it's only fifty extra, but we're tight on cash even after my parents sent me an early Christmas gift

And also it's the principle

I'm not going to pay more than I was quoted just because I drove all that way

That may even have been illegal of them.

Oh, I went back, and they did give me the "updated" price in the email they sent me... this morning at 7 am

which of COURSE I didn't read, because I thought I had all the details I needed already!

Well, I got my other chores for the day done successfully, so I'm downgraded from "pissed off" to "mildly annoyed"
