I just finished reading Piranesi and I liked it very much
oh
I read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell a while back and tho I liked it mostly I found it super dense and couldn’t remember a lot of what happened, it’s just very In A Style
but Piranesi just gets in and gets out and tells its story and I found it very charming. if anything it moved too quickly
anyway feels very thematically similar to me finally starting Expedition 33 yesterday. we’re in surrealism land baby. I’m here for it
I’ve been not very mentally well since Sunday but I’m trying to just be nice to myself and surround myself with Quiet as much as I can
I think maybe the seasonal affective disorder is starting a bit early but it’s been a cold weird summer so that’s unsurprising if true
Grips your hand, we are in this together
i hope things chill out soon
I finished my work early today and I was like oh maybe I'll work on bük, I'm feeling the Writing Bug a little bit
and then I just sat here for fifty minutes instead. and now it is too late.
talking about writing is the same thing as writing, right. tumblr says so
also I'm being hard on myself but this impulse, to work on thing, is still so fragile that when I start feeling it coming back I have to go completely still like I'm trying to get a shy cat to sniff my hand
sit here and wait for it to get close enough that I can even engage with it at all. and then maybe it will let me pet it or it will run away again and I'll have to start over
covered in boys
and i am looking forward to when you catch your book impulse again
thank you, maybe I’ll put out some tuna
i used to run some writing sprints for a group (write for 20 or 30 mins, take a 5-10 min break to chat, write another 20-30 mins) and when chaos stops interrupting my life, i'm thinking of kicking those up again over discord. lmk if you'd be interested.
drew a kitty to cheer myself up
it was a good discussion tho
a tiny boy
also me saying that timestamped 1:23pm is so funny omg
