Today is Solensia day, a once-a-month festive holiday we have no choice but to celebrate! Solensia is a drug that can be injected into a cat once a month to help with arthritis. We really do see a huge improvement in Chive's mobility after his shot.
However. He HATES getting it. Luckily, his clinic knows him well, and knows he's going to turn into a growling, hissing spitfire when they hold him down. Sometimes love is tough-love.
But today was made more cheery by seeing the clinic has had a bit of a remodel since last month! Now there's a screened off "Kitty Corner" for skittish cats to have more privacy in the waiting room and a coffee station for the two-legged creatures. Very nice! Not that Chives appreciated it much, but we did.
Solensia is the best! Our oldest kitty (around 21, we think) started getting it a couple of years ago, and it makes an enormous difference. Before Solensia, he couldn't hop onto the couch, and if he jumped off of anything before we could get to him, he'd go splat. Chives may not enjoy it, but it's absolutely improving his quality of life.
