Am I the only one having issues with login verification not working for credentials I am 100% certain are correct?

i am having a hard time adding more than one account manually (aka not importing them from lj juggler)

Okay - let me see whats happening

yeah, I started adding accounts on Firefox, and at first it was going well, and then error codes were getting thrown up

Just to add my own experience to help troubleshooting: Added accounts, was switching fine. Then paused and tested moving from one account to another and it dropped an error for an account it had managed to log into just a few minutes before.

oh yeah it keeps not letting me in with one specific account. it'll work on an update once in a while, then when trying to switch accounts, it freaks out and gives error after error

yeah I just checked: similar situation

fwiw sometimes doing a "test" login will work/solve the problem

but it isn't consistent and it's not working in one case (I'm not testing all of mine just yet to avoid a temp ban)

same! sometimes hitting 'test' will resolve it, sometimes it says the password is incorrect when it isn't

Yeah I have found the issue - and it means I will need to do a new submission to resolve it which... can take a hot minute to be approved (Up to a week) Will do an update in anotehr plurk

journalgenie: so far it was just hte one journal, and deleting and re-adding it on the manage part seems to have fixed that error

and if it'll help: I'm still on version 141.0.3 of Firefox

i had an ip ban on dw and using the "manage accounts" page to log in instead worked as a charm, it finally logged me in

I am in the process of working on a broader update that priortises improving the login process for Dreamwidth, as well as the error handling. Dreamwidths security requires more layers - which is a positive thing but I'm also finding deeper complexity that I never encountered with months of testing which is just painful

the changes aren't as complex as they look BUT I am doing some much needed code refactoring so while in theory not a lot changed. it needs some intensive testing
