Any of my posts are fair game. If you're replying to a post I do (post not thread), I am assuming everything can be on the table. Icons, spoilers in the text, etc. BUT the icon for the post itself is spoiler-free.

Post gets little details so the text is hidden and organized. I think this is safe

BUT THEN IT GETS TRICKY

So if I am replying to someone else's post. My current rule (so weird to call them rules. Guidelines??) is no icons until 50+ comments to that post so collapse kicks in. Even if the thread I'm doing are the whole 50 comments

Same goes for detailed texts, but I will admit being lazy with that from time to time. The first few comments are always detailed, but after 3... I feel like if someone is reading by that point then they don't mind...

Same song and dance, spoiler conscious until 50 comment mark, and then letting collapse keep the spoilers hidden for me

If it's someone else's top level.... that's harder to deal with

Because anyone else replying within that top level could be someone trying to avoid spoilers, right

But again, I get lazy about the text

people who don't want to be spoiled will go out of their way not to be spoiled so long as there are clear markers and opt-outs

people who read spoilers after there are warnings have only themselves to blame

I'm honestly not usually a huge stickler, but I'm also usually playing less popular characters or characters from a popular fandom but like... they're in a niche corner of that fandom so spoilers are like Who cares, no one goes here anyway lol

like. today is (exactly!) 4 months since E33’s release. That’s a third of a year and it’s a game that sold 3.3 million copies in the first month. There’s only so much you can do even if you’re adamant that people not get spoiled
