Maybe I'm forgetting details (it's been a while since I saw the Ribos Operation), but it's interesting that the Black Guardian isn't really introduced as an opposing force on the search for the Key to Time (or at least doesn't get involved, if that warning is any indication of what's coming) until the third story.
If the White Guardian is the Guardian of Light and Time, I find it a little odd that the Black Guardian is the Guardian of Darkness and nothing else. (you'd think there'd be a pattern, though I'm not sure what the opposite of "time" would be - stillness?)
You can really tell from the shots about six minutes into episode 2 that K9 must have been a nightmare to control on set, given how long it takes for him to turn.
I love how the Doctor can just explain K9's presence in modern times by saying "they're all the rage in Trenton, New Jersey"
The professor's assistant definitely knows more about what's going on than what she's letting on. (she makes a comment about how riding a bike will be a new experience for Romana)
The progress bar on Tubi froze all of a sudden. Hope I'll be able to finish episode 2, at least.
Given the characters so far, the Callieach seems like she has to be the professor's assistant. (I'm guessing all of the missing paintings will be of her - she's the only introduced character who's alive and not part of the story)
And Romana's been sent to another dimension. (or turned invisible)
I assume it's intentional on the part of the Street Fighter 2 team, but when I heard the bullfighting theme that Doctor Who used in episode 3, my brain immediately went to this:
Vega Theme (Street Fighter 2)
The Doctor has unleashed a deadly threat upon the universe: sparkles.
I'll finish episode 3 and then watch episode 4 tomorrow.
While the sparkles are serving as judge, jury, and executioner (as the Doctor opened a door that contained them, and the penalty for opening that door is death even though he couldn't read the language), I feel like they're going to wind up resolving the conflict and killing the Callieach.
The Doctor is representing himself, and the sparkles/machines are willing to listen (though they still plan to execute him afterwards). They're doomed - they're letting the Doctor talk.
I find it funny that the first charge has a penalty of imprisonment for 1500 years, while the second charge is perpetual imprisonment, making the first charge completely pointless.
The Doctor managed to get a stay of execution of "a couple thousand years" - I feel like a later Doctor is going to have to deal with that in Big Finish.
