But this release will also include Permanent API Key support for Dreamwidth. Which I do realise is a big one as many people switched to the keys back in 2020.
I've just done a round of fixes and improvements based on feedback. It's looking good from where I sit but its back into testing. That said if all is looking good over the next couple of days with the latest version? I will be submitting it to both Chrome and Mozilla
For Permanent API Keys - that doesn't mean you have to use them. If you provide a password, Journal Genie will get a temp key from the API to login securely. If you do have them, however, they will work and they will also result in a much faster login process for DW users.
millennialfalcon: you are most welcome!I just appreciate the patience while I try to get this finished. I'm effectively trying to cram a 4-8 week process into 2 weeks, but I thankfully have help on the testing (and a lot of coffee)
malkuthsoldier: Yep - if you have a perma API key it just gets added as a password. It will detect if its an API key and use the session generate method. If its not an API key it will hit a secure DW endpoint to get a temp key to use for secure login
Excellent, then I'll make the switch over to API keys eventually to speed up logging in, but working great so far with the beta version you just sent out a bit ago.
Awesome! I painfully got the API work done - then realised it broke exports. Then fixed exports. Then it broke secondary logins for username/password. THEN it was still initially trying the wrong method which slowed it all down. It can be a painful process but great when its working LOL
the link for the Firefox add-on leads to the android version, and not the desktop. I figured it out and went to the correct place for desktop. waiting on the fix for the mobile version on Firefox
Final check-in with testers and if no more changes needed - I'll submit to both stores in a matter of hours.
Fair warning - this process can be anywhere from a day or two to a full week. Will just have to wait and see. Updates might be available for one before the other.
