like honestly i think the #1 reason i ended up leaning more macross than gundam after watching both on toonami is because my library had the dvd boxset for macross, so i got to watch it all in order and it got to make a stronger impression

They mostly fight in space don’t they?? Why are there so many amphibious suits

they're on earth for about the whole middle of the series, like i just finished 29 and they're about to head back to space next epsidoe, since like...ep7 or 8?

but the last five episodes they have gone from one atlantic coast to another so there's a use case for amphibious suits

but also

there are now as many amphibious zeon suits introduced in these five episodes as there were zeon suits introduced in total before these five episodes

after it took like 28 episodes for saylah and char to meet a second time and confirm that they are siblings, after 31 episodes amuro finally learned that he didn't accidentally kill his dad

the question for all time (or at least for next episode): if degwin had told gihren he was leaving to negotiate a ceasefire with the approaching federation fleet, would he have avoided pointing the giant space laser at that specific part of the fleet, or would he have shot it even harder
