Purely in the design/concept planning stage but it works on the idea that from the group page, you can set up links (and even select icons for those links if you wish) and then you can use the options page to decide what you would want to show in your actual popup. No options enabled, it looks exactly as it does now

Drawback - you're limited to only 4 groups max with this design BUT - you will be able to simply have "all" as one of them

i really like the pill button design

I know some people are keen on being able to add more personal flair - like icons so I figure if I keep the options to choose between in the options page, then those who want flair can have that, those who dont have pill or the matching box designs.

I want to try and ensure that people who like a cleaner popup can keep it nice and clean.

Those who want something extra have that option, but without the negative impact on those who don't

The options page is also where I'll allow people to enable icons to display for each character in the popup as well

Still very early planning but wanted to start getting the ideas out of my head before I think about going heavy into anything else

I really appreciate the way you're mocking up your designs on an actual web site! Makes it much easier to visualize everything than if it was just screencaps

It's how I do mockups for work for my Dev team! I find too much gets lost in translation with a static screenshot. These are of course far from complete but its the first stage of visualisation of how it all works

I need to reuse the CSS for implementation etc so just as easy for me to do the mockups like this, see if I like it, tweak it as needed and then I can piece it all together for the implementation and the scripting is really all I have to do

I love these! Also this is VERY clean and responsive on mobile, to add to your ‘touchable’ comment for one of them (honestly didn’t have problems with any of the UI options, it’s better than a LOT of sites/apps right off the bat)

I may or may not have toggled every option to see which things actually did a thing

LMAO not everything in these designs are fully functional as yet - the deeper I get into them the more you see stuff LOL

When Icons was first suggested all I could think was HOW CAN I EVEN MAKE THAT WORK - turns out I just needed a couple of weeks to stew on it lol

how would icons be put in for each username? would the journal itself need to have a default icon?

thesparklequeen: There will be a spot for you to provide a link. Whether thats to a journal icon or what will be up to you. This concept puts icon/image management completely into your hands

I'll provide recommended heights but at the end of the day - those wireframes (the designs you can see) just use icons directly linked from mine and my best friends journals

Group Link Icon Selector

Not sold on whether this will be wanted/needed but considering allowing people to select default icons instead of supplying their own tiny links for group link icons

(Its interactive so you can actually click the box, see the icons and select them)

Ooh, I like these a lot since the links might be to threads on one journal and some of the web icons might actually be a little more applicable
