I could only remember part of it and it was driving me nuts

had to get up extra early today to take Butch in for his vet appointment. after I got back home I made myself take a proper nap instead of just dozing off in my computer chair like I usually do...

I really need to get my sleeping schedule turned around as there have been several nights I haven't fallen asleep until like 4 am

anyway, Butch did well at the vet, but he has lost weight... I'll have to wait until I hear back from them on his bloodwork to see what I should do for him

hm vet texted me that Butch's lab results are mostly normal, his kidney values are slightly elevated... so I texted back asking if he should be on a supplement for his kidneys and questioned whether he should get more tests done or something to find out why he's losing weight

he has FIV and is in remission for diabetes... so he has quite a few things going on, so idk how to pin down what's causing the weight loss. he already eats several times a day, so idk how I'd get him to eat more

vet got back to me and said his FIV could be the cause of the weight loss, but can't know for sure. it's not caused by diabetes as he's still in remission. I'm going to get a baby/pet scale to keep track of his weight and I guess I'll just have to take him back in if he loses more weight

the vet did recommend fish oil and I can get him a supplement to help his kidneys

I should really get back to tags, since I've been worried about Butch I haven't had the focus to write much of anything...

maybe tomorrow I can get caught up

went to bed early, but still slept in too late... now I've felt weird all day

I think I'll have to order Hal a vit B liquid supplement and also get a powdered vit K, since I think the supplements I found that have both B 12 and potassium have ingredients that might be too high in phosphorus

I did find one powdered supplement that has all the things and looks promising, but I had to message the company to ask if they're third party tested. and it contains spirulina, so I don't know about its phosphorus content. the label doesn't say.

I decided to get the Halloween Pikachu to go with the Count Cyndaquil... also ordered the sleepy Sprigatito... couldn't resist it after reading reviews as to how soft it is

might have to take Butch back to the vet college for a check up... he just had his yearly wellness checkup at the regular vet, but I'm supposed to take him back to the vet college if he's having any issues. today after I cleaned his ears he shook his head and a wad of wax the size of a sunflower kernel came out

and apparently he has an ear infection. his regular vet gave me an animax ointment and I thought I was only supposed to apply it to the scratches he has on the outside of his ears, but I just realized the instructions on the box say to put it in his hears, too

he's not supposed to have that kind of antibiotic in his ears since he doesn't have his eardrums fully intact so idk... I either have to contact his regular vet and say I was dumb and ask if he should get a different ear medication or just go ahead and make an appointment at the vet college to get checked out

I'm so bad about processing the passage of time. I thought it'd only been about a week since I had him to his regular vet, but I took him on on the 10th

I texted his regular vet asking what I should do, but I probably won't hear back until Mon since I texted rather late in the day... tho I think they're open tomorrow...

hm Butch's regular vet hasn't been much help, unfortunately... they just said it might be better to take him back to the vet college because they have more resources and medication options, so it looks like he'll need a recheck with them

I find it stressful driving out there, it's a bit of a drive, but oh well

Butch does act like his ears are bothering him more and the vet confirmed he has a bacterial infection, so I'll need to get him care and the proper ear medicine

wellp the vet college can't see him until Oct. 23.... I was hoping they could see him sooner since he's having itching and irritation

now I'm not sure what to do... since his regular vet didn't offer the option of getting him another medication... I suppose I could take him to another vet for a second opinion

ok I messaged two vet clinics near me to ask if they can treat a cat for an ear infection if they've had ruptured ear drums... see if they get back to me or not

alright, well, the vet closest to the house says they can help, so I guess I'll call and make an appointment

I got an appointment set up for him on Wed, so hopefully they help him feel better

tomorrow will be a long day... gotta take Butch to the vet then the extended family decided to bury the ashes of my aunt tomorrow, so gonna go to that, I guess? she passed almost a year ago, so idk why hey decided to do it tomorrow all of a sudden...

I wish they'd give more notice for things. if I had a few days I'd get something to wear and get my hair cut. my hair looks a bit wonky right now...
