This is also so funny because of all the times Walter kept asking people "why does Arthur hate Misty?" and somehow NEVER got a straight answer

I had fun with it xD also blaming it on walter as if he wasn't also being an ass is funny to me

I love how much of Walter's bullshit could have been deadheaded if he literally ever conceived of talking to Arthur or John as a reasonable solution

I was primarily referring to the six month period before Walter actually attacked him

To the exasperation of everyone involved, "oh! I actually was severely misled about this situation all along!" and "screw everyone involved including Misty, not my circus not my monkeys" happened simultaneously and not in sequence as would have been much more reasonable

Six months later John is going to be taking to Malcolm like "so... Walter graduated so he must have gotten over his 'god forbid women do anything' [like the Tumblr meme] ism, right?" And Malcolm will have to be like "no, he actually just got even more angry that Misty had been lying to him"

But yes I know Walter hears what he wants to hear please rest assured of that

From Walter's perspective, right through "Misty shot Arthur and never apologized... Unlike promptly getting an apology from Natalie, who is actually the one who manipulated Misty into doing it in the first place" Walter is like "every single thing I hear about this makes everyone BUT Misty look WORSE" but then the unrelated matter of "she lied about Adam"

came to light and in the ensuing confrontation, Walter took away that Misty was lying her ass off about LITERALLY EVERYTHING that ever happened when she was an inmate

...oh, John would agree with Walter's anger

Walter just kinda boxed it up inside because he still doesn't exactly think John and Arthur are GREAT. so unless he was really willing to do a 180 "wow I was wrong about you guys", he found it ungentlemanly to go over like "hey uh good news Misty really is super unworthy of trust"

He thinks that would just make him come off as a butthurt stalker and that's maybe even kinda true.

Yeah when Walter was like "why do you think no one else tried to make this a thing?" obviously the #1 person who comes to mind is Will. They'd had a close bond the entire two years and it's now been 0.5 years that they're married after graduation, even. So Walter had assumed that Will agreed it shouldn't be a thing, and accepted that

From his point of view "it can be a thing... Maybe in a year or two" is like no!! No, this is important and won't just go away!!
Walter doesn't think of it as "confrontation" though especially because Walter really has come to Malcolm like this like... I don't know, it really might be three or four times in straight up threads

And Malcolm brought it up first this time. So Walter would like to think of it as Malcolm's epiphany.

oh yeah, then they(Malcolm and Walter) have had discussions on this before. it is a healthy thing to do! even with everything on the barge messing with reality, it's good to know where one's own reality sits.

Secondly yes Walter has been completely gone for a while now. The plan was to say here "welp, I graduated so I'm leaving tomorrow", that probably did get said, but he did say "what the fuck, you lost your arm? They TOOK your arm?" First. There's a network post as well.

So Walters been gone 1.5 months.

Cool, I thought so! I just saw Walter still listed on the warden list and wanted to make sure before I had Vash talk about how his misses his friend who is left and gone!

I still find it funny that Varker also thinks of Walter fondly and yet hates Vash's dumb guts.

Varker and Vash are just too similar and they both dislike themselves, so they were always going to butt heads.

I waited until a few days ago to post the drop because I thought I wouldn't be able to backtag if I did (actually wrong!) and I was working on, mainly, this one thread with Malcolm

Walter: well, I like it when people react proportionately to the fact that this place is hell. Unfortunately Vash reacted to this in ways that were not psychopathic but in practice were very stupid, and Varker was directly hurt by said reactions. That's how the cookies crumbled.

So I went looking at Vash threads to see some relevant things happened. And I'm ascending at this

and she basically went "breach safe friends dream safe don't be scared"

it was very imprudent for him to do so instead of just set up an ouija board or something in the first place. I assume people using less psychically intense methods haven't usually DIED. That perspective on the events would actually advance "Vash tries to do WAY TOO MUCH by himself and is negligently dangerous, that's what he needs to learn as an inmate"
