It calls to mind the funny thing about work in adulthood. You spend 40 hours a week with these people. For years you can have the same routine, be around the same people, the same commute, the same everything. Then suddenly you get fired, quit, or laid off…your entire life changes.

You never see the people you were around every day for years ever again, your daily driving is upended, your lunch spot gone… just everything completely uprooted. And we all just shrug like it’s no big deal and go look for the next thing because that’s what is expected of us. Our community literally ripped away from us and it’s just a giant shrug.
