I plan to call my bank first thing in the morning but I'm also flying out to my dear friends wedding next week and can't exactly.. wait.... for a new card to come in the mail if I cancel/freeze this one
Suggestion: Before asking to replace the card, explain you need to replace it (DO NOT SAY WHY AT FIRST) but need to know if they'd be able to rush order the new one to you first
Reason that's in all caps is because if you mention a possible unauthorized charge or compromise there's a decent chance they'd have to (at minimum) block the card so no transactions come through until you order a new one. Including valid ones you need to make.
I actually went ahead and blocked the card on my end initially just to be safe since my bank is really good about allowing you to freeze and unfreeze your card personally. I did also reach out to the "company" and they said they're canceling the order and processing the refund so maybe they're just....
