Oh, absolutely. It's hardly a problem unique to Nikke, or even any Mobile game with a nameless protag.

But Nikke's STORY is one of those special ones that inspires people.

Imagine the game tempting me to write fic is the ass shooter.

The correct solution is to swap in a femme commander. Or do a wild-ass AU where one of the NIKKEs is the commander.

Presumably joking naturally.

So while thinking about that joke and an actual thing to do with it, I realized part of the solution: All of Counters have four letter names. So copy something from Phantasy Star (original Quadrology).

Like, that's less of a joke than it sounds. There's an implied naming convention for the Squad, so it applying to the Commander to is actually sorta elegant.
