i love my current games but I think I need something New
them both being late at night really has bee hurting too cuz Im just too tired to get into it
I should steal one of those
also yeah late night games can be rough especially if you got like a job, I got two I'm running on a bimonthly basis and it still hits me hard cause they're both on work nights
and yet I have an intense like addiction to wanting to play pretend with dice
I'd rather lose sleep than not game at all, but it's rough
but yeah I have games where I regularly go till 11pm
What kinda games you doing, I see Werewolf (I presume Apocalypse and not Forsaken cause reasons)
right now D&D and Savage Worlds, actually! The emote is WtA tho yes
I don't mind forsaken tho- I just have way more experince with Apocalypse
ah I've tried Savage Worlds before.
I just used all my tabletop emotes
also haven't played any of the WoD games except for every version of Hunter because my friends do not take WoD seriously
like we enjoy the world but Vampire melodrama isn't our thing
...actually I played Mummy once, that was...interesting
Werewolf was my very first tabletop I am super attached to it lol
understandable I have a similar stance on like Rogue Trader
/pretty much all the 90s wod is.... awkward these days I will admit sob
/forsaken is way better in that regard but no one ever wants to play it
/forsaken is the D&D 4e of werewolf
the CofD games are like...all kinda weird
I can KINDA see why they decided to retool Reckoning to be more like Vigil but also I miss the super powers of being an Imbued
I think Forsaken's like...refocusing down to just "man or wolf, don't get in the animorphs about it" and not being about specifically the GOOD GUYS of WoD without actual debate might have turned people a bit
though I'm also kinda iffy on modern WtA because of the whole "we wanna seperate the indigenous themings a bit" but like...also they got an indigenous decent guy to work on it anyways so?
Not against making it more respectful but seems like a...hangup
from what I heard they didn't even do a great job of retooling it
it's all so tangled a completely redo like Forsaken would be needed but then it's... a different game which doesn't really solve the problem, sigh
you know I did get sort of a similar vibe about the people in interviews before its release as I do from the guys who made the version of Mage where the Technocracy was playable but like didn't know anything about technology or the internet themselves
like there's some energy of 'trying too hard to the point it's clear you don't actually care'
very corporate sensitivity training energy
You would think after Onyx Path like...kicked out White Wolf after the VtM5 fiasco and fired all the LARPer writers it'd be a bit less weird, but apparently it just started rolling back in last year anyways
like I wouldn't give White Wolf a chance again tbh but you know...you do you
yeah I don't blame anyone for turning away from WW after... so much fuckery
With me it's literally just "haha you guys are so bad at this" UNTIL the VtM5 fiasco
at which point I straight wrote them off as anything but an icon on Onyx Path books for branding
which...they basically became until more recent returns
anyways wish I had some offerings for you for an actual new game but alas my groups are all full up unless you wanna join a discord for playtesting a Sonic the Hedgehog themed PbtA game
For me it's like: I got the books, I peeked at the modules and liked them pretty good, but I'm also going "my mental bandwidth is maxed out just running a DWRP, adding another game on top of that would give me a short circuit."
