IF you are a believer (no reason to engage with this if you are not, I hardly need to convince you that such a thing is stupid...) all prayer should be a tool and/or resource such as meditation to soothe your mind / spirit / soul and help you find the best course of action and how to co-exist in the world with other very different sometimes alien people.

Thus praying for harm to yourself, for example, is not a thing that will result in anything except the opposite point/productivity that prayer could give you. ie: Imma pray for a migraine for myself is beyond stupid, and instead you need to look at WHY the fuck you would do something so stupid. If it is "I am scared of this event and if I had a migraine I

would have a guilt-free excuse not to go"

The productive prayer would instead be courage to face the event; best health for all courses, and that everyone enjoys the event to its fullest including you.

Do not pray for a shooter not to be trans, (or as Republicans apparently did... pray for them to be Trans because Republicans are actively evil death cultists hellbent on civil war by any and all means they can contrive...) rather instead, pray for trans rights, people to find better courses than assassinations, truth and justice to prevail, and for

people to be their absolute best. -- Sidenote: my tribal Chief CaringHands said in her book to always pray as broadly as possible because then all your bases are covered and you'll like yourself a lot more. IE: if you have a friend sick with covid, pray for everyone with covid. If you want to pray for freedom for (my example not hers) ICE detainees; pray for

all of them, not just one specifically.

That said, do I now think the Governor of Utah is probably an evil fuck who uses religion not as a resource to be his best self? Yes, 100%. HOWEVER; YOU who are reading this are now empowered to be 10000000000x better than he can ever imagine.

The easiest way to think of this is a simple flowchart. If you get your wish (prayer) what happens next? Is this actually a good thing? Why are you REALLY praying for this? Could you pray for the good things better and could it help someone else to pray different? If yes, do that one instead. Otherwise you're being an asshole.
