god i have so many feelings and thoughts about fragile dreams
I owned it forever ago on the wii but was never able to finish due to being spooked
but it's really such an atmospheric game
playing it on a second go around is genuinely something when you notice small background details
especially if you actually went and re explored places with the flashlight that shows hidden messages
like... the THINGS i know about this game that i wanna talk about

oh please by all means
1. in Seto's home in the very beginning before you leave, if you look closely at the bookcases carefully, you can actually find the pirate kids book that Crow read and based his whole identity around
its not commented on by seto but you can find the title among the other books
2. SPEAKING OF CROW: did you play around with the hidden messages flashlight in old places to explore like going back to the amusement park or the mall after the game gives you that flashlight?
you can find the messages Crow wrote in various places of the amusement park, including a message from before he became "Crow"
where he calls himself "H0053348", which was his identification number as a robot
the old man in the photo he shows seto was a scientist of the glass cage project that they mention at the end of the game, and crow was one of the robots you can find in the dam that attack seto: The discarded robot enemies that Seto encounters have the same voice as Crow when they die
3. this one is going to sound crazy as fuck when i say it, but Shin is Seto's grandfather: the glass cage project mentioned at the end of the game actually split shin's consciousness in two, with one half being the shin you met at the end of the game due to glass cage attempting to separate soul from body nier gestalt style
the copy of shin that was still in his body survived the apocalypse and ended up raising seto when they found a child having mysteriously survived in the ruins of the city nearby
the writer of the game had to explain this in an interview because the english translation of fragile dreams game is... well its not completely inaccurate but its not perfect either
4. There is a fragile dreams manga, and it takes place post game, featuring Seto and Ren wandering the world together. It also clarifies what Seto was talking about with "ending up alone again" which may have come out of left field of "wait Ren dies anyway?", as we find out in the manga that there is a medication that Ren is supposed to be taking due to
the experiments of glass cage that were done to her, and Ren realizes shes living on borrowed time when they cannot find any more medication for her in the ruins of the old lab
I knew that the robots shared crow's voice but none of that other stuff
theres also a talking cat! ... which is revealed to be Shin because again, glass cage was a fucking bad idea. shin getting defeated at the end of the game did not completely put him to rest and part of his consciousness ended up in a cat after that battle
it did read like he was an AI like Rei
unfortunately this is the only translation that exists of the manga
