Then I spent the next 10 minutes explaining that - yes, she may have scanned a document that had writing on the back, but unless she scans both sides the computer will only pick up the 1 side.
And it's not the question so much as she's so bad at active listening. So she's too busy telling me how the computer must be wrong to listen to how she can avoid/fix the problem.
And it was a stupid topic. They both agree the lunch ladies pack up the cafe too early. They're supposed to be open until 2pm, but are often closing down around 1pm.
Just... An endless back and forth of them going:
"You don't understand, I wouldn't be upset if they closed because they're out of food, but they're not!"
Then the other lady would say basically the same thing. And because they're not listening they go:
"No! They always have lots of food left over! If they didn't I wouldn't mind them closing early. But they have food left to sell so they should stay open!"
I'm really not doing it justice. I don't know how to properly put into words how mind boggling it is to listen to two people thinking they're having a conversation with each other, but they're not. They're really not.
i have myself been guilty of arguing with someone who is saying the same thing as me, but at least i usually catch on after going back and forth maybe twice
