So the authors of the Rook and Rose series ran a Kickstarter to produce pattern decks -- the oracle cards one of the protagonists uses in the books. Mine just came.
(It is nice that it isn't a straight Tarot expy, beyond some basics like 'suits exist'.)
So anyone want a reading, either IC or OOC? There's a basic three-card spread for answering questions about the future. (As well as a seven-card spread also for specific inquires, and a nine card spread for general readings. In the books, the character uses a five-card spread for curses, but the guide can't recommend it.)
(Apparently the authors randomly drew all the card spreads in the books, complete with a 9-card spread the protagonist did for the masked revolutionary, the Rook, which would have totally given his identity away way too early... so the authors had to have the magic hidiing the Rook's identity also extend to pattern-reading.)
