The after-visit notes from my doctor's appointment today: GEN: He appears well, alert and oriented x 3, pleasant and cooperative.Me reading this at home:
I’m going to get a good grade in being a patient, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve,
LMAO i started paying attention to those at some point, “pleasant” is apparently standard doctor speak for something like “this patient doesn’t seem emotionally impaired” which IS a medically relevant observation but still hilarious to find in your visit notes
pleasant is a beginning baseline as well
if you start coming in more spiky, the mood change should be noted

“well groomed” is another one that shows up sometimes, which is funny to encounter but it is also, for example, used to evaluate pet health, and even human patients aren’t always 100% communicative
sometimes your manner and presentation can reflect stuff about your health that you might not even be aware of yet
