I'm preparing for my octoberwatch this year
I actually remembered to grab my copy of Zelazny's A Night In The Lonesome October so I can read one chapter a day this year.
a bunch of Victorian-era literary characters gather in an English village during October to determine the fate of the world, whether or not a portal will open on the last night of the month to let Cthulhu and the rest of the Old Gods out, or that not happening.
The viewpoint character is the dog Snuff, the familiar of a Closer named Jack, who is very good with knives.
Roger Zelazny was challenged by a friend to make a book in which the reader would cheer for Jack the Ripper, and every chapter takes place over a day in October.
yeah you should definitely look it up, Zelazny is one of my favourite authors.
