https://images.plurk.com/3ZB3s5uWL3Qyli9XXMQodp.jpg God dammit I can’t win. Today I found Sunshine on the bottom of her enclosure, barely moving. Last night she wouldn’t eat and she has never turned food away but sometimes not everyone is hungry. I went to offer her again and that’s when I knew she’d started the death curl -- I just found her actively slipping.

While she was found outside by my son compared to Nike, who was from a breeder, we took her in and gave her some quality of life for a few months. She was an adult because she did lay two rounds of infertile eggs so I knew we had borrowed time

Unfortunately, with wild card compared to captive bread, you can’t really tell the age. We do have a tiny one who still has a molted, but is eating very well. I don’t think he has much of a chance either even though he’s active because he should’ve molted by now... I guess it’s a wait-and-see for him.

For lockett yesterday, she came out of her enclosure very energized still eating, but unfortunately losing her grip she would be three in November and I don’t think she’s gonna hold out that long but then again she has fooled me a couple times. Both Nike and sunshine are buried next to each other in my garden. As is life, but man it sucks. 🕷️❤️
