I know I shouldn't take it seriously as it's the old lady praising someone for uploading a file so early.

As she missed my follow up group message warning people that the file uploaded was last week's info and hadn't been uploaded for the current week yet.

I did end up replacing it with the current data at the usual time, but of course the old lady didn't say anything about that. Just how nice it was a coworker was able to get the data so much earlier than normal

And me sitting there biting my tounge about how it's easy to update wrong info early

Not that this woman even looks at the info until I've double checked the numbers anyway. So I don't know why she cares so much that it was in 'early'

It still just makes me want to stop trying so hard. I don't really get much praise for how much I do for this old woman.

Then someone who just dragged and dropped the wrong file into a group chat and nothing more gets praised

Not that I really do it for the praise, but I can't lie that it stings a little going: why is it that's all it takes for this person and not me?????

Between this and the other guy making the charity work I try to do harder? I'm just over working today.

Thanks all, I'll get over it. It just sucks because I've been feeling lately like I keep getting all the hard work thrown at me for the crime of being competent and I don't know how to combat it.

So this is just compounding that feeling of forever getting punished for being good at what I do.

I just update that file automatically every week because I know it needs to be done. I also open it to make sure we've been sent the right one. Because we're often sent the week before.

Never get thanked.

Someone else blindly plops in the wrong info because they didn't open the file to double check it.

I also didn't get thanks for warning people that it wasn't the updated info. Or for then updating the correct info when it came in a day or two later.

And this file nonsense happened back on Friday. I didn't say anything because it wasn't that interesting and it happens all the time that they post outdated spreadsheets because they're all bad at updating or just using the spreadsheets I've set up in our shared folders

I updated the correct info on Monday and then today (Wednesday) old lady is congratulating the girl who posted the wrong info last week for getting it in early before Monday.

Yes. Thank you so much for posting the wrong info. So helpful. (Okay, so I am a bit bitter still. But I swear I will get over it)
