I am also purposefully spoiling myself by watching gab smolders play it
because I am an extremely jumpy person who still has nightmares about fatal frame 2 to this day lmao
and speaking of fatal frame, this game just absolutely matches the vibes of fatal frame
the dark shrine reminds me so much of the shrine on mount hikami and the Kurosawa family shrine 
and the fact the majority of the monsters in game are doll-related... love it
also, watching gab smolders play it does give you a little more insight since she is fluent in Japanese and has some familiarity with the culture
