A campaign Quinn is running that's based on kingdom hearts but instead of going into disney movies they visit old valor campaigns we've all done
The gang just finished their trip through the world of Final Fantasy Anima Valoris
an FF themed campaign I was in years ago
My character was a samurai
Who had sworn to kill the Shadow King
in the campaign, we fight the Shadow King and win and then Kaito (my dude) stabs him in the heart and has a moment of like
"I've completed the one thing that I was working towards but it feels like a hollow victory. What do I do now?"
In THIS campaign, we did things a little out of order
Kaito's 4th ult in FFAV was that he threw aside his sword entirely and started fighting with pure cutting intent
To keep that very cool (if I do say so myself) moment, I just made that his 3rd ult and busted it out in the fight against the Shadow King instead of in the fight against the final boss
So his sword broke and he was just like "whatever" and kept fighting
But then we get to the after battle cinematic
I'm ready to stab the Shadow King and be fucked up about it
but Kaito doesn't have a sword anymore
It created this moment of like
He didn't know what to do
And I kinda implied that the Shadow King gets brought to justice and maybe becomes a resource the party gets to use later in this timeline
Which was an interesting difference from the original timeline
Which also fits the kinda lighter tone a game based on Kingdom Hearts should have
It was just a small thing that led to a bunch of interesting changes
