my major problem is they don't even try to do lore/vibes, most of the videos like this that I've seen focus on "here is how to make [x] characters in D&D" focusing mainly on mechanics/extensive house rules
yeah like it's one thing to reflavor existing classes/rules or add a couple house rules, but stuff like that takes a ground up rework, at which point you might as well run a game more suited to that idea
There's at least one person on YouTube who does videos of how to play pop culture characters in D&D, by RAW. Though I think he sometimes suggests little things that a player could ask for for flavor.
