Ah this is, specifically, Honor

Despire the presentation, not a terribly interesting chapter

Honor and Cultivation were illicit lovers

Cultivation was a dragon before she was a god

Odium didn’t arrive on Roshar until later

The chapter banners have been getting progressively more and more damaged

Day one they were like

Everything is falling apart

Honor and Odium’s rivalry resulted in the planet Ashyn being burned to rubble

Odium admitted it got a bit out of hand

Ruin was the kindliest of the shard bearers???

Maybe she thought she could contain it

Thaylenah surrendered...

Oh my god

I bet Sigzil ceded the shattered plains to the Listeners

Which means Odium didn’t conquer it from the humans!

This is a grim book

I’m looking REAL HARD for the hope of victory and there are occasionally glimpse of it

But most of the book is Odium perfectly outmaneuvering everyone with superior planning, tactics, and numbers

He’s just winning
