I wasn’t sure I would get into if after how hard I burned out on the first game
But enough is different and fresh, and I took a big enough break, that I’m having a great time
After Silksong I was expecting to get curbstomped a bit but the difficulty curve is reasonable
Like I died to Hecate twice and now I’m pretty consistently beating her
Scylla is stomping me into the dirt though
She’s gonna claw (my eyes out and then drown me)
I did beat her once because a build just really came together perfectly, but I have yet to replicate this feat
I don’t really have a favorite weapon
They all have their own appeal but none have set my brain on fire yet
oh if you want advice on scylla

I did figure that one out, fortunately
There’s just a lot going on
i think the really good thing with Hades, both of 'em, is that the bosses have such fun designs and quirks that like
it doesn't feel BAD losing to them
and you can usually figure out their attacks and patterns easily enough so it's just a matter of practice, which doesn't really take THAT long
I think it’s weird that they have Daedalus Hammers and Hephaestus boons
They kinda overlap in vibes
Last thing I did was unlock the route to the surface, though I haven’t actually used it yet
One thing I wasn’t expecting is that I actually really like Aphrodite in this one
She had the least useful set of boons in Hades 1, in my opinion
i think they kinda even it out nicely with hephaestus putting a lot of focus on armor
But they reworked her shit a bunch and now she has some fun options
scorch with the twin blades is STUPID
The one run I beat scylla I had the torches, plus the boon that restores magick on attack
So I just did disgusting amounts of damage with attacks
Hestia has a really good boon for dealing with a lot of projectiles
Melinoe feels like more of a caster than Zagreus
Since she’s literally a witch
As opposed to Zag who was trained by Achilles
He’s more of a “get IN there” fighter
zag's best builds are basically entirely "i am going in, i am staying in, if you think i'm not going in you're wrong"
Melinoe feels pretty fragile by comparison but can attack in a lot more weird ways
I think it's a perception aided by the kinds of boons she has at the start vs zag, yeah
she's got a lot more ranged options too
I’m picturing Zagreus as like at least a full foot taller amd wider than Melinoe
Gods can get pretty big, after all, and he’s had a while to settle into his power by now
Assuming he’s still alive
(Do not spoil me on this i swear to god)
in the picture you can see in melinoe's camp you can see that zagreus is actually about 5 feet taller than melinoe
i had to make sure to doublecheck your last plurk to make sure you ran into her but- yeah considering that artemis is noticeably taller than melinoe when you meet up with her on runs
and i kinda always had the vibe that artemis was like. on the shorter side compared to the olympians
i would assume zag is Real Fucking Tall compared to mel
and Zag is tiny compared to Hades himself
Yeah, whereas I assume that Melinoe has the classic mage "doesn't matter that I'm shorter than you if I'm basically a walking tactical nuke" thing going on.
Meli is my tiny princess and I love her for it because yes she will absolutely wreck you regardless
I am probably taller than Melinoe and she could probably through me through a brick wall
me too. and I would let her tbph
