The old WotL cutscene makes it feel like Ramza and Delita are both naive kids, and don't get the scale of what's going on.

some of matsuno's interviews have made it clear part of the reason for this rerelease is to tighten up some of the intentionality he was after all along, without changing the meat of the thing in any drastic sense

and one of those things i thought was interesting along those lines was that he wanted it made clearer that delita was far less the vindictive blackguard whose efforts were all for naught and who was only remembered heroically by those who heard the history, not the truth of it, than some interpretations have taken him as

instead of the story of ramza and delita being a story of two childhood friends who had the same wish for the future of their world, but could never see eye to eye on the means necessary to achieve it, and thus could never remain on the same path to see it come to pass.

Which I always thought was a weird interpretation of the character. The one time we see Delita lose his cool after the first act is when Valmafra accuses him of using Ramza, and it seems like a genuine bit of anger. Kind of puts the lie to the callous manipulator read.
