The vet wants her to start some weight loss food, but she is such a picky eater when it comes to her food, wet or dry. Thankfully, I was able to get the same brand, just a different formula.
I mixed it with some of her old food and now she's sitting in the hall, ears turned back, glaring at the bowl as if it just tried to murder her.
Then she flopped at my feet as if she's dying (she's not) for a few minutes before going back to the hall and glaring at the bowl again.

I shouldn't laugh because this probably means she isn't going to touch that food EVER, but at the same time it's like...well, she DOES need to lose weight...
Well see in a few hours when she's really hungry again if she eats it. She just had her wet food and was going to a dry food "dessert" afterward, so she really wasn't that hungry.
LOL the funny thing it's that food is BETTER quality than she is used to. shakes head She really is a Baby!
GOD that is my dog. he will inhale the cat's cheap ass kibble before he eats any kind of grain-free that i try to feed him for his skin issues
i will put the nicest, most expensive food in front of him and he'll sniff it then wander off and try to eat out of the cat bowls
hahaha Yep, that sounds like her exactly. If she starts showing signs of scavenging, I'll have to give in and switch the new stuff out, but until then we will see.
I mean, this is also the cat who can apparently smell a pill hidden in a pill treat which is in amongst the other treats she just goggles up, so smell might be a big thing when it comes to her.
Lol, cats. My gray calico Stan gets real picky about the wet food I give her (the dry is something she only eats when like, starving, so she doesn't care so much about that) and has turned her nose up at lots of high quality expensive stuff.
gods, right? there is a reason why I end so many of my cat plurks with CATS! shakes head LOL

soul sisters, she is a DIVA!!
less about food, but I attribute that to being on the streets as a baby.
you should hear the dramatics when the roommate tries to touch her.
(I love your girl though, I wish I had suggestions to give you to help her lose. Though we did put our four on strict feeding times.)
im so glad i have such food motivated cats who will eat anything thats put in front of them lmao
(except for noct who should STOP eating everything bc everything includes plastic)
...that sounds like our Poppy.
Omg Bagel does the same and it's so frustrating, especially when I need to get vitamins in him. Picky frigging cats. We love their dramatic butts but ultimate divas.
it's so funny the duality of cats because I had to water down Nebula's wet food because she is dehydrated a lot like a dummy and was worried she wouldn't like it but she did not care at all
we now call it her soup and go SOUP TTTIIMMMEEE when I make it and she loves it wjenwjw
nightlocke: Mine was on her own in the wild for a couple of months. Their MIGHT be a pattern here. (I mean, other than them just being cats. LOL)
fontech: Noctis PLEASE stop eating things that AREN'T food. Don't be one of THOSE cats!!
horrorsocial: yeah I've given up on pilling her. thankfully a lot of things have alternatives in this day.
tentamenace: LOL! I swear all Ayame eats out of her wet food is the gravy someties so I get extra gravy when I can for her. Maybe I should start saying wet food time is her soup time!
