[Computers] Glares at Microsoft I think I found out what was responsible for the spikes in my computer temperature that was causing it to crash even after I replaced the fans.
At some point (my guess is when I "upgraded to WIn 11) my power plan settings were changed from balanced which is recommended to high quality which means the computer was using more energy to do EVERYTHING. X.x
It's only been a few hours since I changed it back, but already the computer is running on aver 20 degrees cooler which puts it at 170F under really high load instead of 190 which is where it typically crashes.
I highly recommend going through this if you haven't already done something like it because 1) it makes windows less intrusive and 2) turning off a lot of these features will use less processing power
Oh I have not! Thank you! This computer was high end when I bought it, but it's certainly not 5-6 years later so it needs help when I can give it to it. Plus, with my vision a lot of those extras are beyond useless to me! Some make it actually HARDER for me to use the computer
Oh yeah. It definitely wasn't a suggestion I know that there are a lot of reasons people can't do that. Just. Not regretting I did even if figuring out certain parts was annoying.
