the kid has enough anxiety as it is, its not making it any better lol
Temptation to give Æn'kae a hot chocolate. Combine their powers to make everyone (including each other) miserable
they gave Mordred hot cocoa once and he got the short stick of the spider genes and ended up poisoned lol
coffee had him act as he was on some heavy drugs, so none for either kid
but yes, have the kids do future discussions while inhibited by whatever. its a bonding experience!
Not poison but XD
(Day has been drunk before, he tended to hit bars for information way too young)
where else is a 12 year old supposed to find out the security rotation of the fight jet hangar?
Because canon says nothing on chocolate for Romulans. I vote rule of funny. IE it doesn't do anything for them, so he knows friends like it, but just has not had it. And it for some reason NEVER occurs to him that he favors the Vulcan side physiologically and will be effected more like a Vulcan than a Romulan most of the time
and Days idea of the effects of coffee is likely skewed bc Jack drunk a lot of it (he had chronic insomnia, possible a minor non-sleep entity, and was the only employee of a 24/7 gas station sooo)
well one of 3 employees, but Rosa had self-restraint and Jerry sorta only ended up there bc his cult did a whole rapture without him
I mean. Also people can provide very different ideas of coffee. If you only know someone who drinks a ton of coffee it seems weaker. If you only know someone with ADHD who drinks it to self medicate without realizing, it seems to calm people down. So like
personally i dont drink coffee, i dislike the taste. i got cocoa laced with guarana instead (that i like cocoa without milk or sugar is also an unpopular choice)
Jules will exist on a steady stream of energy drinks if permitted to do so, I should send him that way
(as I'm over here just drinking tea lol)
hey daniel did you know that if you drink 100 cups of coffee you get superspeed?

I love this for Daniel.
he doesnt need more speed, his brain is already running circles at the best of times! Xopi encouraged him to do try weed to calm out a bit
Snagged a short reply. Fun Romulan greeting tidbit. Things like "What's up?" and "How are you?" are considered invasive and rude. Traditional greeting exchange among more casual acquaintances is basically "I see nothing" followed by "Nothing to see"
Among closer friends you have what is basically a "what's up?" exchange, however, the traditional reply is "None of your business" XD
i'm having that mood with english bc u never want an actual answer to those questions! esp not if it includes negative things
NGL, the not wanting an answer always gets me too. Because like sometimes people do, sometimes they don't
I feel like it's region specific here. But yeah uh, just love that Æn'kae basically walked in and immediately just wordlessly went "I see nothing (unless you want me to)"
Day is still a bit stuck on "cant show ppl u have problems". and also his lack of education is very embarrassing, for all it was none of his fault
June once actually complained to her higher ups "how are our soldiers ever supposed to catch Day if they cant keep up with him?"
after she'd skipped school to prove that you can scale 5 stories in under 8 seconds (if you are the nations prodigy XD )
how were they supposed to win that war if they cant even catch their own criminals?
sorry Aen'kae, you are finding the minefield that is Days history
It's cool, he blissfully has been lying/evading through his own while he's at it

Æn'kae doesn't so much lie as tell the truth deceitfully tho
Day is a mix - he is a bad liar, you can spot easily when he is avoiding a topic, but pretending he is someone else, fit into a disguise? thats easy.
as for education, he is somewhere at a 7/8th grade level rn. reading skill off the chart, you can give him something and have it memorized after the first time, just never got explained things
or needed the theory behind them - i'm sure he knows a lot of physics and geometry from scaling buildings, using a slingshot and whatnot, but its not like he ever thought about why it's easier to keep momentum in a series of swings than come to rest and start up again
-nod- Æn'kae is meanwhile like, plz don't let me be the first person on my team who ends up having to deal with starfleet's temporal investigations. Plz.
Day is the temporal investigation by his belief lol
XD not the same. I love the difference though Æn'kae, not even starfleet, doesn't actually care about the prime directive, doesn't wanna deal with confrontation. Meanwhile McCoy be like "What do you mean you're on dialysis. Ugh barbaric, take this pill and grow back your kidney"
Prime directive would just upset Day bc he'd immediately jump to "so you are knowingly letting ppl die even tho you could help?"
I mean that's basically what McCoy did with time travel stuff. And ripple effects of meddling with worlds who were below a certain threshold is why the prime directive exists. Didn't mean they didn't stop disasters etc, they just couldn't be seen XD
Gas station just messing with the whole idea of non interference. Ok, we got two ppl who originated from books and told them. The alien from a movie has eaten another interdimensional gnome. The god just confirmed Jesus wasn't real. Who wants tacos?
But yeah uh, Æn'kae isn't about to risk meddling with time. Even if it's minor, because his people have a Reputation, the federation might worry how much was changed and worry it was an act of war which would ruin the work the republic has put into being trustworthy
its ok, he never wants to go back to his time anyway!
he actually could pull a whole grandfather paradox, there is a confirmed ancestor in Warcross, which is set sometime 2030s (and the reason why antartica got all the tech but also they almost got humanity mind-controlled by an AI)
ngl republic wouldve had a good pilot there, had they bothered training him. not a commander, too many issues with following orders, but he'd fit in there
he'll just ask Aen'kae if he wants to cook/eat together henceforth. suffer the food machines together (and a nice hook for the antler shenanigans, when he'll suddenly stop showing up)
XD they can be victims of cube crimes together
mostly he can avoid the cubes, but he doesnt trust it with full meals and it got ideas on what ingredients are
the two younglings just bonding over living in the forest lol
I love the idea of Day seeing just how bad Æn'kae's luck with the cubes is. Orders mushrooms. Grey cubes. Spinach. Green cubes. "Please not a cube" two cubes
Also yes XD let them live in forests and be happy
he will happily order for him, he misses eating with family
if the forest werent subject to weather he'd absolutely just camp in it
