They did so much more unnecessary steps and work.

And I kept saying: you don't need to do that. Just select this drop down.

And they still didn't.

I first told them verbally, walked back to my desk, got a teams messaging asking if they should do the drop down now, I said yes. I got asked a different question. Told them if they selected the drop down then they don't need to do those steps.

THEN THIRTY SECONDS LATER GOT ASKED TO CLAW THINGS OUT OF THE BACKGROUND BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T PICK THE DROP DOWN

I don't think there's hope for humanity.

People come to me for help because they say I'm approachable and good at explaining but this shit keeps happening at every job I've had.

But how much simpler can I make the instructions of: don't forget to change the drop down to say P8

Is it the accent?!? Is it the way I type?????

I may be having a slight (comical) break down right now.

Because I wish I had an answer as to why my advice is so often sought after, but never followed.
