ngl folks, I've had a headache for DAYS now, and there's a LOT happening
and I'll probably have to mod his clothes too
I'm glad he's coming home but oof

Good news, but exhausting. You're doing wonderfully.
for context, his test:
brain mri
abdominal MRI w/contrast
PET scan
all of that needs a renal panel done with 24 hours before testing
he's also on 4 lpm of oxygen with activity, 2 lpm at rest/ sleeping

I'm glad he's coming home, but I hope you get a very good rest soon
Do they know if it's cancer yet?
technically no, the pathology report won't be back for 2-3 days but the pulmo is very certain it's small cell lung cancer
SO glad he's coming home, but that is SO much to deal with
oh that's so many developments
Oof, that's a lot. Hang in there, friend. I'm thinking of you
goddamn fucking insurance but it's handled
home, have him in his recliner
glad you've got him home <3
That’s so much
sparks_fly:

yeah* and he's upset about being home on oxygen and is getting upset about the machine
Terry was really upset about the concentrator for a while, but we found that putting it in the bathroom with him on a 25' hose helps, and when he's in the living room we put it outside the front door
cuts down on the noise and also how badly it heats up the room
dad doesn't mind the heat (and he can't hear the noise, sadly) he doesn't like having to have the oxygen at all
but just walking dropped him from 92 (on 2 liters) to 83
and he'll probably be on oxygen the rest of his life honestly
my dad was on it the last 3 years of his life... the house was so QUIET without his concentrator after he passed
he's going "i can walk to the bathroom faster without this" and it's like probably. but you can't BREATHE while doing it
Yeah it's a big adjustment, bless his heart. It has to feel like his freedom has been compromised.
went in this morning to check on him and the concentrator was turned off, so not sure how he did that or when
I'm probably going to have to daisy chain zip ties around it to hold the tubing on as is
Do what you have to do.
trying to remind him (often) that he can't take out the trash or recycle because he's on oxygen and it doesn't reach.
and explaining to him that no, his brothers didn't go bald in their 20's from cancer (that killed them in their 50's/ early 60's), they went bald because that's how their genetics shock out
He SWEARS I told him to put his shoes on to go get litter and the cat food.
the one in his 30's didn't even do enough chemo to lose the rest of his thinning hair.
he's hearing what he wants to hear
if the air won't tether him, time to zip tie chain HIM
I can't, he still needs to take it off to smoke his weed
and change his shirts i guess
