So first worth noting that a huge chunk of the cast of the game has supers that have these long freezes because the super starts and then it has to load in a cut-in of the Gundam character and some audio before the game can resume, which is funny in of itself.

This is to the point where some characters who did not have VAs available for recording because they didn't have an English counterpart are higher tier because they skip the cut-in and can respond a lot more easily to shit with the supers.

(The super freeze actually is part of what makes Deathscythe Hell so top tier is he can teleport away, activate his super which is just him throwing the fucking scythe full screen, and the freeze will eat inputs.)

But the funny one is actually on granpa there, the RX-78-2. The original Gundam, hanging at the top of A Tier with all these guys with complicated setups.

Why? Because Grandpa has a super that goes most the length of the screen and deals 1 whole health bar of damage. Most of the suits have 3-5 bars of varying length, and every other super in the game has rules about damage and how it scales and if it can penetrate into other bars or whatever.

Not Peepaw here. He has an almost instant start-up super that does 1 Health Bar of damage, no matter how much health remains on that bar.

And the best part is that it has audio, and it freezes not just for the startup but the whole animation before said audio and cut-in kick in.

So you make a mistake and then the game locks up for five seconds so you can hear and watch this dude slowly wind up his goofy gimmick weapon and then Brad Swaile yells "GUNDAM HAMMER" so loud his voice cracks and then you eat shit for probably 1/3rd of your whole HP.

There is no big impact frame or hitspark or anything you just get bonked on the head so hard it breaks game mechanics.

We got to talking in chat about it elsewhere and it got brought up how extremely funny it is that Ball is somehow in this jank-ass Super Proverty 64 fighter better than several actual Protag Mechs and basically all the boss characters that aren't Banned

The Ball's pros:
- Has a big gun that does a lot of damage
- Is fast

The Ball's Cons:
- Dies if you look at it funny
- Big Cool Gun's ammo is VERY limited

(The Ball is somehow better than both the Zeta and the Full-Armor ZZ, as well the Zeong, Neue Ziel and Big Zam all of which are boss characters)

The ball literally can pinch several bosses to death before they can do anything to it.
