Come make crafts with us!
I'd love to, but I just can't justify it when my track record for finishing even the easiest crafts is abysmal.

Only here because also crafty - I’ve been making Halloween postcards all morning.
But I’m keeping the cat one.
/flops around waiting for the 13th
I have SO many ideas already on what to make and finally am in a position to craft a thing
Whoops submitting a day late my bad
my to-do pile is already too big, but i'm excited to see what everyone else makes!
Heya! I was thinking about signing up this year, but a lot of carriers aren’t delivering to the united states from outside the united states currently. Are there idk digital options for this? Like playlists or photocollages? I just hate to give something ephemeral to someone who is sending something lasting and real. So i kind of just... have avoided
Does anyone have any plans or ideas for this situation?
Could do a picture and scan it?
magicom I mean if you signed up and got assigned to me I would not object to this. Honestly given the whole aspect of how things are between US and every other country with shipping, it is probably a really good option. I personally can't do shipping prices out of the US rn so I opted out of international gifts.
For instance, when I shipped something to Fii, I paid almost 100 bux and that was at the start of the tariff threat when they hadn't quite all been in place.
I think for international buddies, we need to allow digital gifts this year, yes. Anyone else have suggestions?
If digital gifts are on the board, I can take an 'international if it is undestood it would probably be a digital based option'
Er, change my submission that is. XD
Count me in too, re: would do digital for international people
I would allow digital for international, and also would like to say that I would be willing to donate funds toward shipping a thing internationally if shipping cost were the main barrier.
But tariffs really have screwed us over. Fuck this administration.
tricia868 It's not just cost, shipping itself has been unreliable from certain places. Or so I'm told.
that's why I said if it were the main barrier. Unfortunately it's not the only barrier; there are some countries that straight up can't/won't ship to the US right now (understandably)
I also read an article.recently that UPS was dumping packages shipped from outside the US so they didn't get stuck with the cost of tariffs. like. as the broker.
so even if a carrier accepts a package to the US, will they actually carry it there? it's a mystery!
yeah, I feel like the most reliable way for me to mail a package to a Canadian is to plan a weekend trip to Montreal with my datefriend
I have generally considered trying to make some money next trip to Scotland by doing some drop-shipping.
Taking a heap of packages with me from the U.S. to mail them from Scotland.
tricia868: lol yes that would work since Canada Post striking workers are going back to work
id be able to ship from Canada potentially... its only a few hours drive and I am scheduled to do some work in Anacortes this december
Anacortes no longer has a direct ferry to Canada, sadly.
I guess I could drive up to peace arch too.
omnomivore I'm in the same boat. Always tempted, stopped by my bad track record of finishing things. (And also because I've barely done art for, like, a decade and have no confidence in being able to pick it back up and produce something I'm satisfied with if I did manage to finish something.)
(I know work has to happen first but EXCITED pls don't mind the vibrating!)
