The Enterprise has found an old as shit spaceship from Earth in the depths of space
When we had a space fleet
ToS is set in the....2300s, I think?
The ship is the SS Botany Bay
"The Mid-1990s was the era of your last 'World War'"
"Would you like to be on the away team this time, Bones?"
"Well if you're actually giving me a choice-"
"I'm not"
Apparently we discovered warp drives in 2018
"Would you reveal to war weary populations that some 80 napoleons were still around?"
The time period wasn't really definitively set at first and they give conflicting info but from TNG onward TOS is established as being in the 2200s
Khan has been asleep for 200 years
Khan is dodging questions like a boss
He is definitely a compelling villain
"Mr. Spock you misunderstand us. We can be against him and admire him at the same time."
"....Illogical."
"Totally."
Khan is disappointed humans haven't evolved
But believes that he and his friends will do well in this century
he's broken out of confinement
And is waking up all his friends
The Enterprise is sabotaged
The air is running out on the bridge
Kirk runs in with a phaser, Khan take it out of his hand and breaks it in half bare hands
This was one of the more tense episodes
You really shouldn't have left him alive
I'm sure that will never come back to haunt the crew of the Enterprise
Or ruin slash end anyone's life
yeah it's definitely never gonna come up again, it's fine
