Teor has been sent off to a/the couturier, I infer for a bodyguard's uniform. The Marketplace has all arcane magic forbidden.
WAS a pear. Now it's trash.
Back to the imprisoned Celestial in the Prismatic Retort - batlike wings flailing against truly massive chains.
Zebani Halovar, Wicander's older sister, is also there (shadowed by Cruelty).
Lore: [The Halovars] were the right hand of the Obridimian royal house, and they came for us.
The Photarch (Yanessa) used some of the Celestial's blood for a spell > wish for a child, which produced Wicander's father, who has wings bound up on his back.
(They used to serve Tansul, God of the Sun.)
Aetheon went mad when he lost his master, Tansul.
Iris, Wicander's mother, was something of a True Believer.
Wick's got a marriage arranged with a D'Antonio because they have access to a vinyard of magical substance that can dilute the Filament without weakening it overmuch.
k'sharavi, Prince of Demonkind and [something] of Suffering!
He gets Filament in exchange for providing demons and services.
Tyranny's contract is with Wick, not with the Halovars, unlike what her sisters are doing.
(Her physical form is only 6 months old.)
The couturier is actually a problem-solver (cleaner) for the Halovars.
The Creedfolk leave.
[Marisha skitters back and forth as Murray comes in]
Occtis's father objects to Murray's language.
The Lord Primus Tachonis subsequently slams a curse on Murray that she is able to resist [wisdom saving roll].
Then he threatens to kill her.
House Tachnonis have settled into Obramis Manor in the Tanners.
Someone offscreen hollers 'First map coming out!'
Occtis, Thimble, Wulfric and Kattigan have rolled initiative! A bag is being thrown over Thimble by hostiles in the 'Guard Tower' tavern, the base of the Crow Keepers.
25 init! Nobody gets the drop on Thimble!
Laura is having a bad dice night.
Thimble hides in the bagman's pants. The bagman apologises for the conditions therein.
Occtis tries casting fear on Solomon, the Guildmaster.
Alex and Robbie aren't having a good night either.
Robbie is having spasms at the result of Laura's rolls.
Thimble gets snatched out of the trousers and into the bag!
Wulfric has been secured.
Meaning: Vaelus literally crashes through a window into the tavern.
She winds up her censer [read:
meteor hammer] and tosses it into a rogue's cheek.
Her censer is bladed, and she means Business so he falls dead with a slashed throat.
The Crow Keepers are freaking out. Occtis throws green fire.
Vaelus whispers, 'Run' and the rogues bolt.
One of the rogues spills everything: Cas paid off a debt incurred by skimming, but had come in looking profitable; Sid came in just thereafter and grabbed a deed off the table and scrammed. They're both gone.
Pin has been gnawing at Wulfric's bindings to free him.
At the edge of Dol-Makjar, fringe of the woods, is 'The Hallowed Round', the new(ish) home of the theatrical company Halandil Fang runs - a massive amphitheatre, where the God of Ritual and Performance would occasionally appear back when.
'Once we came to celebrate a god. Now we celebrate each other.'
Oh, maybe it was to propitiate the God of War, my bad.
Thaisha and her daughter have a lovely moment as Shadia shows her mother the forest at the base of the waterfall that originates next to the city, a forest that has survived so much - all through the Shapers' War and the Falconers' Rebellion.
Bolaire arrives in his very large grey carriage with a supply of something unsafe.
Oh, crates of that paint that was mentioned in Ep. 2....
Huuuuge double-handled amphorae.
During the War, the place's holy symbols and such had to be defaced since the god could cast through them.
Meanwhile, Murray finds Azune in the city. They compare notes.
Marisha (and Luis) nearly kills her side of the table.
Teor enters Mercanaud Couturier.
The place is sensory overload.
Teor smells a metaphorical rat and does not drink the sherry offered.
After Travis's rolls, Taliesin calls for a young DM and an old DM to exorcise the table. Teor gets hit with nasty magic.
Wic and Tyranny come after the market has closed.
Wic starts schmoozing, the rest of the table is making very odd noises.
The tailors were cutting Teor's shadow into pieces.
The fighters return to Hal's house, where Inez Roundtree is housewatching.
Thimble, who hasn't seen Julien Davinos in years, snarls at him.
Julien, who just ensured the death of her partner, gets very arrogant and huffy, then grabs her wings.
Before, the Tachonis were the priestly family of shadow (counterparts of the Halovar).
Julien asks Occtis to speak to Lady Aranessa; Vaelus carrying Pin comes along.
Hal's party finds everybody at his house. Thaisha notices no Occtis, gets furious at Thimble's attempt at an explanation, wild shapes into a wolf and takes off.
Hal ends getting overwhelmed by all the connections and information, ends up staring at Thjazi's sword -- it's a Lloy sword, known as the Liar's Blade.
He ends up wearing it, and as plans are made to head north, they decide who's going and who's staying. Teor swears his life debt to Wic and Tyranny.
Soldiers' Table skipping next week!
('Pin' is short for 'Pincushion')
Aranessa offers Occtis a safe room for the night.
Thaisha-wolf has tracked down Occtis's location. She and Vaelus make a connection.
Aabria: Don't turn the camera off!
BLeeM: Is it Thursday yet?
