We run a Qualifier exam during our PhD student's second year. This exam is done on a computer that has no ability to reach the internet - like the clocks on them are all fucked up from internet being disconnected.

3/5 of them failed the exam.

it's been a 40 minute discussion about what can be done to help them learn, but how when they're using AI on exams and homework so they're not LEARNING the same way, and when they don't have AI to help on an exam, they flounder
