Fantasy Maiden Wars is an SRPG set in the touhou world that kind of goes through the plots of a bunch of the main games!
It's been some time since I've jumped straight into something feet-first with no idea what the fuck I'm getting into
It's simultaneously a really good introduction to Gensokyo as a setting AND just a really kickass game
Even if you don't know Touhou, you should consider checking it out!

You ABSOLUTELY can get into it without touhouing
I mean, you would be touhouing a bit while you play it
I have virtually no prior Touhou experience and so far I'm having a pretty good time
