Andy Whitfield wasn’t able to reprise the role of Spartacus. The production got delayed because of his cancer at that time. Thought he said he had a remission but got a relapse later on. Hence, more delays. That’s why Season 2 became a prequel.

Batiatus and Lucretia were loved characters in the series. Which I agree.
