I cruised through the fight for the most part. Things only started getting a little dicey when it started using Hero’s Cry every turn to get a million turn tokens
But even with that I was handling it pretty well
My setup was basically Halkenburg was my tank on Royal Knight, using the knight taunt and defense ability to bait the boss into using single target attacks on her. And because she has the ability that causes her to randomly counter attacks, she would sometimes drastically reduce the boss’s turns
And the other three setup so that I was constantly giving the boss weaknesses to ice and shadow and then hitting it in that weakness
Everything was going great until it switched to Seeker and then used Emerald Vortex on my like five times in a row, killing everyone but Halkenburg
Obviously that's not ideal, but at this point the boss has only a sliver of life left, so I spend tyhe turn getting as many people up as I can, knowing that if I can make it to next turn with at least two people up I can close out the fight.
The boss switches to Warrior, which works for me since both Halkenburg and the Prince are resistant to slashes. It swings at me once, twice, okay everything's looking good...wait, what?
He died? How did he die!?
Halkenburg randomly reflected one of his attacks and that was enough to tap him out.
It took me a second to even realize what was happening, I thought the game had glitched out instead of handing me back control for a moment
Anyway on the scale of Atlus RPG superbosses that wasn't difficult at all
It was funny seeing commentary about it beforehand like 'oh this boss is horse shit, you spend half an hour whittling away at it and then it uses an instant-kill move right at the end'
My brother you are not dealing enough damage
You only see that enrage ability if the fight goes on for fifty turns
The boss has 30000 health. Which is a lot but if you are dealing even an average of 650 damage a turn you should never see the enrage. And 650 a turn is EASY
YOu need dekaja, dekunda, some way of giving it weaknesses, and something that hits that weakness hard. At this point in the game you should have all of those things.
If you can't put out a couple thousand damage a turn against a boss that is not really doing all that much to stop you the whole game must be agonizingly slow for you and you have fucked up your build somehow
Anyway I had gotten to the last month, beaten the three tower dragons, farmed up most of the royal archetypes (have them all now), and then just...stopped playing for no particular reason
So now that I'm finished Silksong I'm circling back to finish it off
