Inktober day 27: Onion

I have long referred to Katsura as an onion since he is a man of many layers https://images.plurk.com/5pvMSGNQ3Qq1QAShNSMVgM.jpg
latest #16
i mean all of them are layered but i don't think he's special in that way compared to others ahaha

To me there's just something about Zura in particular because it's almost like every layer contradicts the previous one :-D

noooo he's very consistent! too consistent actually it's part of the problem

pray go on
so imo, both he and sakamoto are largely exactly the way they present themselves (less harmless than they appear for sure, but speaking like. personality/values-wise) meanwhile gintoki and (arguably) takasugi are more like. tsundere lmao. denying the soft squishy parts and you often gotta dig for days to find them, if that makes sense
tho the fun part is none of them have really changed fundamentally since like. ever

I agree that Gin and Takasugi hide their soft squishy sides , but once you see that, you know those layers are there underneath (thinking)

With Zura it feels like there's a serious surface exterior that looks competent only to reveal a much sillier side underneath only to show soft squishiness only to show total insanity only to show smart manipulative competence only to show more silliness only to imply he will do a lot for the bit... until we finally get down to his squishy core

Or that was how it is for me at least

(and so easy to love)
for me it's not underneath because he's got it all out on full blast :' )
i would sooner call it "facets" i think
the competent and the stupid are entwined

totally valid, so for you he's more of a jewel than an onion, i could see that too
