Like yes, the simplest remedy for this is to ask for specifics. But whats worse is when you work with younger people who are eager to prove themselves, they often take such feedback to run like headless chickens and scorch any progress.

I had a co-worker who would say something like "This and this are not working." and my old boss would respond with "I don't want to hear problems I'm paying you to find solutions." From then on whenever I would raise a concern I always add bulletpoints of suggested solutions.
