laptop power adapter broke. Bought a new one. It's the wrong model and the plug doesn't fit
latest #25
the plug broke on the old one and I think it's still physically in the socket on the laptop
I need to tweeze it out somehow
how the fuck am I gonna do this
well at least I don't need to replace it again
well forceps are like 5 bucks
I guess I've gotta go to the drug store
you can get micro forceps where the tines are way smaller
might have to order those online though which means waiting
would you be able to use a magnetic screwdriver? Or would that damage the components?
I feel like it's jammed in there too tight for a magnet unless it was a really beefy one
Yeah, I think any magnet strong enough to shift it would be a bad idea to bring near your electronics.
if you have a safety pin, straight pin, sewing needle or anything like that, you can try prying it out with that. jam the sharp part into the plastic inner lining of the broken piece at an angle and like, leverage it against the side of the hole to pull it out
it is not the most elegant solution in the world but i've done it before
I'm trying this but it is starting to bend the plastic case
and it's making me nervous
yeaahhhh if you think it's gonna damage or deform the socket then don't keep going with it
