In a dwrp game where one of the core tenets of the premise is regularly interacting with a cast of NPCs, what mechanics would you want associated with that cast?
Anyway I know I haven't DWRPed in like a decade but I did play in a lot of games that had high NPC interaction when I did. What I would probably want to say is if you're going to have a very NPC centric game, you most importantly need a way to spread the NPC interaction roughly evenly
Like it sucks when interacting with the NPCs are super important but only a select few characters get meaningful threads with them and your character gets like 2-3 replies at most
shiningkestral: Yeah it sucks to not be able to get involved because you can't actually get a thread with the NPCs whether it's because they already have so many threads or for some other reason. I hesitate to say my solution to this would just be "I'm built different." so that's definitely one I need to noodle over.
