WHAT YOU GONNA MAKE
https://images.plurk.com/3S5BexZZZEdJT8OM5A0Krf.jpg then grinding them down so you have exposed surface area to soak out even MORE tannins for another week
then draining, drying, grinding them down and finally sifting into flour
they gonna be cookies
and btw 3lbs of acorns made one cup of flour lol
if the apocalypse comes I can make cookies but I understand why this is not an accessible flour
happy snacking don't die!

PSA for anyone who tries this, you want acorns from the white oak group (including blue oak and live oak), not red or black. otherwise you will have so many tannins that you'll be soaking them for ten million years

also oak weevils are harmless and edible, though I personally am not that brave. but it reassured me given that 100% of my acorn haul had weevils (I just cut around the damaged bits)
oregon white oak! and lol even with it being white oak tannin soaking took two weeks
