It wouldn’t be an ideal system
weirkey tabletop really wants its own insanely in-depth custom system
i think at minimum it needs to be one of those systems where you get to put things on a grid
you need to be able to Construct your soulhome
it would be SO cool and SO hard to make
yeah. so hard but so cool...
each room would have scores relating to what it's supposed to do and each item in the room contributes to that score and cantae flow can also affect them,
if a technique was built like Valor, then items inside the technique room could add mods, core levels, or lower stamina cost,
But DB does have a lot of rules that could simulate the real world side
offensive bar: half-height floors
With like trying to figure ouf peoples blueprints and taking soulhome damage
Defensive bar: shielding wall
Nauda got hit with a Brutal Consequence
I think what might work is a weird DB spinoff where both PCs and enemies get bars.
Highly modified valoe might also be viable
Like, Valor has enough granularity for it already.
And you can easily map room items to modifier levels and such.
skill rooms and technique rooms
Theo = mnd/spr/guts
Nauda = str/guts
Fiyu = agi/spr
Skills too, that telescope thing I saw someone talking about could just be Size Up.
an advantage dbreak has is prep arcs
whole sessions of soulcrafting
Yeah, you would want to borrow DB elements for sure or like create a rough equivalent. I think level ups would have to be handled different than we usually do.
I think what you’d want to do is give players a lot of room to decide themselves what kind of sublime materials they find
Instead of instantly getting your level or doing dynamic delayed level ups, have downtime where you soulcraft your level ups.
Like “you found enhancing materials worth up to 6sp”
“Cool I’m gonna call that a lump of floatmagma”
I think a house rule where you can attack someone's technique or skill room and it functions effectively like Seal.
You might consider something like “dynamic levelups are a slow action but using them gives you bonus ST/HP”
The big problem with valor is that valor is divided into 4 seasons and soulcrafting is divided into 3 tiers
Which is another point to DB, which is divided into 3 big tiers
I do think it would take more work to put the level of detail that soulcrafting has into DB than Valor, tho.
It might be less work to, like, make up a fourth soulcrafting tier.
or just, end the campaign at 15
That's the other thought I had.
